The Beach Basket program

In 2022, the Sebastian Inlet District partnered with Coastal Connections, Inc. (CCinc) as part of the District's goal to minimize negative impacts to the environment surrounding Sebastian Inlet. CCinc is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit focused on coastal protected species management based in Indian River County. Beach Baskets provide the members of the  public with the opportunity to retrieve litter from the inlet's beaches and report their hauls using a QR code at the Beach Basket station. The District also collaborates with CCinc., Sebastian Inlet State Park and Keep Brevard Beautiful in hosting quarterly cleanup events and the annual International Coastal Cleanup event.
