2024/25 North Jetty Revetment Improvements Project – Phase 1 Frequently Asked Questions
Where is the project located?
The project is within Sebastian Inlet State Park and located at the north jetty.
What does the project entail?
The District has permits to rehabilitate approximately 190 linear feet of revetment structure with four-foot diameter granite and construct a steel, sheet pile seawall with concrete sidewalk deck along portions of the Sebastian Inlet north jetty that were impacted by storms.
When will the project begin and what is its duration?
The contractor, Shoreline Foundation, Inc., will begin staging the project in November. The project is anticipated to be completed in July 2025.
Will the project impact public access to the north jetty?
Yes. To ensure public safety, access to the north jetty will be closed during construction.
What is the goal of the project?
Portions of the north jetty have been damaged by previous storms. The improvements are part of the District’s responsibility to maintain inlet infrastructure, navigation, and ensure public safety.
What is the cost of the project?
Design and construction costs for the project are approximately $2.5 Million.
Why is the webcam unavailable?
The webcam has been temporarily removed from the north jetty because it is located within the construction area. The webcam will be reinstalled when the project is completed. The District is currently exploring the possibility of installing a temporary webcam while the main webcam is out of service.
